Building the ‘map’
Trust for the Study of Adolescence (TSA) is managing the Parenting - Inside and Out project to develop practice in supporting young parents in custody linked with support for their parents in the community ie intergenerational support.
We want to know about your work in any of the following areas:
- Parenting support to young parents in custody (under 18 yr old fathers and mothers)
- Parenting support to the parents of young parents in custody
- Linked or joint support to young parents in custody and their parents
In 2006 we carried out a survey to ask organisations to tell us about their work and from this we have built a ‘map’ of practice. The ‘map’ is designed to provide examples of the ways that parenting support can be provided to young parents in custody, as well as to their parents. We hope it will be useful for practitioners and managers as it can be used to:
- Find out what’s going on in your area and make contact with the staff involved
- Learn about the range of interventions that can be offered
- Read more detailed descriptions of some of the services provided
- Access example forms, leaflets and other material used by some organisations
- Find out about other programme resources and useful organisations
We want to add to the ‘map’ as we know that we will have missed examples of practice and also we want to keep it up to date. So please tell us about your work if you think it should be included in the ‘map’ or contact us to add to/amend the information we currently have.
