Tailor-made Training

Home » Courses & Conferences » Tailormade Training

We offer training on a wide range of subjects in two major areas: Promoting the mental health and emotional well-being of young people and working with parents of teenagers. We can tailor existing courses to your requirements, or design others from scratch to your specification.

TSA takes responsibility for the course content including programme, handouts and arranging trainers' overnight accommodation. Your agency provides the venue and selects the participants. Follow the links for more information.

Making a Booking

Ideally, TSA requires written notice of a request for training about 12 weeks before the date you want the training to take place. We will consider requests for training with less notice but may not be able to meet them.

There are five main steps involved:

  1. Discuss your requirements informally with Jayne Hellett, Principal Training Co-ordinator, Adolescent Mental Health, if the training is for those working with young people, or with Wook Hamilton, Project Manager, if the training is about working with parents.

Jayne and Wook will let you know whether TSA is able to provide what you are looking for and will be happy to explore the issues involved in providing the training to help you decide if you want to go ahead.
  2. When you are sure you want to go ahead, put this request in writing (e-mail is fine) to Jayne Hellett or Wook Hamilton. Specify what you want the course to achieve, who the training is for, and your preferred dates.
  3. In most cases, we will acknowledge your written request by sending you a written agreement that confirms the basic details about the course.
  4. The TSA trainer who will run the course will then work with you to plan the event in detail. Consultation is usually done by telephone and e-mail.
  5. Lise Hansen or Sarah Lee, Course Co-ordinators, then follows through the practical arrangements for the training.

Cost

The fees are based on the number of trainers per course with up to 14 participants for one trainer (for “ESCAPE and Parallel Lines” courses the prices are for up to 12 participants for one trainer). For some courses there is scope for flexibility around these numbers, at an extra cost of £30 per delegate, so please call to discuss. We will need the final number of delegates a week before the course takes place.

Fees for statutory, independent and large voluntary organisations:
Course length One trainer
Two trainers
One day £780 £1,310
Two days £1,404 £2,358
Three days £2,106 £3,537
Four days £2,808 £4,716
Five days £3,510 £5,895

TSA offers a 20% discount on the above fees for small voluntary organisations.

Fees for small voluntary organisations only:

Two days £1,123 £1,886
Three days £1,685 £2,830

The fees include all costs including travel and standard materials (each course has a full pack of handouts). They do not cover trainers' overnight accommodation (if required) or the cost of training packs that TSA sells commercially such as ESCAPE, Wavelength, or Working with Young People.

TSA courses do not attract VAT.

Bookings that total more than £6,800 qualify for a 5% discount.

Expenses: All trainers' expenses such as travel and subsistence costs (but not accommodation when required) are covered in TSA's fee.

Cancellation Charges: If you have to cancel a course, charges apply. Please contact us for details.
